Small Group Classes

Musical Theatre 101

Watch a new musical each week and then join a small group of like-minded teens to discuss the show. As a group we dissect the show to focus on elements such as set, costume, lighting, performance and more. We then learn how to review theatre like an expert and really focus on critical thinking and listening to other perspectives. An optional add-on is writing your review to share with the team or your home-education team. The skills learned in this course cross over well to our other courses in playwriting and directing and can greatly assist in supporting learning in school or homeschool courses in Language Arts. Whilst these are 2-hour weekly sessions, learner support does not end there. Participants and parents can reach out any time for learning and extension ideas, as well as for general education support.

Ongoing, start anytime. Be matched with a group that suits you. Recommended for ages 11 and up.

Drop in option or 8-week pass.  2 hour weekly class (plus watch at home musical). Price includes access to online streaming channel to watch the weekly play.

These courses have optional at-home learning add-ons that learners can share with parents or teachers, but no homework is ever required to participate (except in the case of watching a recorded show each week in Musical Theatre 101 / Drama & Comedy 101). Please ask for extra homework via email and Anita will send it through! There are no expectations for completing course work, but rather emphasis is placed on the process and opportunity for meeting with and growing our minds with other theatre geeks.

Flexibility within these classes makes them great for PDA participants. Modifications can be made to ensure the support of all neurodivergent learners; if you have ideas for changes that will help you feel safe and more able to participate please let us know.

These courses are also available one-on-one.
